What We Look For

We always expect DRs to adhere to our Terms of Service. Below are some additional, but not exhaustive, descriptions for what we look for when monitoring events:

  • Professionalism

Digital Reporters are expected to uphold the highest level of professionalism, as the legal field is a highly professional field. They are expected to dress professionally while on camera (including, but not limited to, not wearing hats with brims, sunglasses, sweats, or spaghetti straps). The environment in which the DR takes a call is expected to be quiet and undisturbed, with a professional background (the Parrot background if your computer supports it). DRs are expected to always join the call at least 10 minutes early and be ready by the start of the call. They are to be polite and respectful to all attendees, and stay engaged in the call for the entirety of the time.

  • Communication

Digital reporters are expected to maintain a high level of reliability, including ensuring they are no last-minute (<48 hour) cancellations and always reachable by the Parrot team during a scheduled event. If there is any uncertainty regarding client requests or procedures, reporters must proactively reach out to the Parrot team for clarification to ensure accuracy in the actions taken.

  • Script Adherence

Digital reporters are expected to read the script verbatim and in the proper order, ensuring that no parts are skipped. Every segment of the script, including swear-ins, stipulations, identification, transcript orders, etc. must be fully and accurately articulated. Additionally, all transitions on and off the record must be officially stated to maintain clarity and professionalism in the reporting process.

  • In-Event Procedures

Digital reporters should always ensure high audio quality for all participants, and intervene during cross talk or for bad connections to ask the attendees to repeat themselves. They must be able to accurately explain Parrot procedures and products, or refer clients to the support team if unknown. They should possess the ability to solve problems in the moment, ensuring smooth operations during events. Spotlighting witnesses, never assigning the host capabilities, and administering the exhibits app when needed are all expected of our DRs.

  • Event Form/Script Accuracy

Digital reporters must ensure that all attendees are correctly mapped during the Attendance step and when new attendees join the call. All attendees’ names should be spelled accurately, with all email addresses collected and spelled correctly for all counsel. Transcript orders and read/waive statements should be logged correctly, and DRs should always ask clarification if they are unsure of the order. Exhibits must be properly marked and noted, and hearings should always be recorded (when applicable).

  • Adaptable

Digital reporters are adaptable to Parrot’s ever-changing technologies. They take additional training in a timely manner (when needed), and proactively reach out about questions when unsure of new technologies added to the platform. They understand the changes are can articulate them to clients when asked, as well as troubleshoot issues in call when possible.
