Recording with a PC
If you have a PC, you will be using Sound Recorder (if you have Windows 11) or Voice Recorder (all other Windows versions). Both applications require the same steps, they just have different names.
They is automatically installed on every PC, so you should have easy access. Follow the steps below to set up and record your Zoom hearing with Sound/Voice Recorder.
Note:
- You must have your volume turned up to a reasonable sound in order for this to work. Do not mute your computer, play other audio on your computer, or turn the sound down extremely low.
- You must not use headphones while recording. You need to have your computer speakers playing the sound. Reach out to digitalreporters@parrothq.com at least 48 hours before an hearing if this is not possible for you.
- Open the Start menu and search for recorder. Choose Sound Recorder or Voice Recorder, whichever you see.
- Press the red record button or blue microphone, depending on your Windows version.
- Press the same button again to stop the recording.
- Your audio recordings appear on the sidebar on the left.
- Rename your recordings with the correct convention and save it in a folder that is easily accessible.
- Upload the audio file to the Google Form.
