Parrot Digital Reporters Compensation Guide (Effective 1/17/25)
Compensation Overview
Starting January 17, 2025, Parrot Digital Reporters will be compensated based on a new pay structure that differentiates event types and levels. This updated structure ensures fair pay and clear pathways for growth.

- Intermediate & Advanced Level Events (Depositions): $28/hour
- Expert Level Events (Enterprise Clients): $35/hour
- Depositions in Aid (Client: Lotane): $32/hour
Enterprise clients include Travelers, Farmers, USAA, AllState, and American Family. Enterprise events can include both EUOs and Depositions.
Guaranteed Pay
- The minimum compensation for an event scheduled for an hour or longer will be 10 minutes of prep + 1 hour minimum, even if the event ends early.
Minimum guaranteed pay per event level:
- Beginner: $25.67
- Intermediate/Advanced: $32.67
- Expert: $40.83
- For EUOs and Depositions scheduled for less than an hour, DRs are guaranteed the scheduled length plus 10 minutes of preparation.
Cancellations & Rescheduled Events
- If an event is canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours of the start time, DRs will receive one full hour of compensation at the respective event rate instead of the previous $20 flat rate.
On-Call Events
- The on-call pay rate remains $15/hour.
- If a DR is pulled into an event during their on-call period, they will be compensated at:
- On-call rate for the waiting time.
- Standard hourly event rate for the event itself.
Event Changeovers
- If a DR takes over for another Digital Reporter mid-event, they will be compensated based on the time spent in the event at the appropriate hourly rate.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. How will the new pay rates affect my current assignments?
New rates apply to all events booked on January 17, 2025, and later. Any events scheduled before that date will be paid at the old rate.
2. How do pay rates work if I am a higher-level DR taking a lower-level event?
Compensation is based on event type, not DR level. Example: If an Expert DR takes an EUO (not an enterprise event), they will be compensated at $22/hour.
3. I covered an event above my level. Does that mean I’m promoted?
No. Sometimes lower-level DRs are asked to cover higher-level events due to volume needs. Compensation will match the event type, but DR level remains unchanged.
4. How do I qualify for Enterprise events?
Enterprise events are only available to Expert Level DRs. These include depositions and EUOs for specific clients (Travelers, AllState, Farmers, USAA, American Family).
- You can find the client information here in the platform:
5. Are EUOs always Beginner Level and Depositions always Intermediate/Advanced?
Typically, yes, except for Enterprise events, which may be either EUOs or Depositions.
6. Why are Intermediate and Advanced Level events paid the same?
The two levels exist to create a clear pathway to becoming an Expert DR. However, there is no current difficulty difference between these levels, which is why they share the same pay rate.
7. Will the new Enhanced Cancellation Policy apply to existing bookings?
Only events booked on or after January 17, 2025 will follow the new cancellation policy.
8. Will On-Call pay rates or the First Hour Guarantee change?
No. On-call pay remains $15/hour, and the first 10 minutes of prep + 1 hour minimum guarantee remains the same.
9. How can I track my progress for a promotion?
- The DR Operations Team reviews quality weekly and conducts promotions monthly.
- Quality expectations are outlined here.
- DRs receive feedback emails for performance improvement.
10. Who should I contact if I have questions?
Email digitalreporters@parrothq.com for compensation-related questions. Do not call the Event Support line, as it is reserved for in-event communications.
